Central Florida Chapter
February 2015 Program
Our February program will be a blackwork heart taught by JulieFera
- Aida or linen — count and color of your choice. The size of the fabric should be appropriate for a 68×57 stitch design (136×114 threads on linen). The fabric size will also depend on your finishing plans. For example, on 14-count Aida, the design size will be 5″ x 4″. If you plan to frame your piece, then your fabric size should be 13″ x 12″
- 1 skein cotton floss in the color of your choice. The floss should create a strong contrast to your chosen fabric. Overdyed or variegated threads are not suitable for this blackwork pattern
- Water-soluble marker
- Appropriate needle and your usual stitching supplies
If you already have a favorite heart shape, trace it onto your fabric with the water-soluble marker prior to the meeting. Stencils and additional markers will be available at the meeting.
March and April programs will be announced at the February meeting and via an e-mail blast.
