That's a great question --- I'm going to answer it here ('cause this is where you'll most likely be looking for an answer) and I'm going to add it to the "First Stitch-a-long Begins" post as well...

The instructions for ordering Marie's "Garden Path" kit are on the last page of the Designers Across America instructions that we receive from the national office. I don't have permission to publish that information here...we're still in the experimental stage here, a "live-beta" stitch-a-long.

Where do I find the address to send off for the kit? It's not in the Needle Arts.

Lynn,
There's a tear away paper product that machine embroiderers use that tears away easily and doesn't leave whiskers. I know, now I tell ya. Sorry.

And here I am again, cleverly disguised as "not-threadbender.

If "not-threadbender" can leave a comment...anyone can. (Though comments will be moderated and we do have safeguards against egregious spam.)

Take a stitch...

Make a comment...

The true beauty of this project -- other than the true beauty of our Garden Path -- that anyone can participate (subject, of course, to getting the instructions from our national office before June 1, which requires that potential participant be an EGA member -- but future Stitch-a-longs may be completely and utterly open to everyone.)

I create the posts...and that does require registration, passwords, and other such security stuff, but anyone can comment on a post...

What does a person have to do to sign up for the blogs on this project?

All the more reason to get the kit. Thanks for the info. I'll need to get my kit request in the mail.

Say, Indian River Chapter's newsletter is forming. Could we put a note in regarding this opportunity?

Hi,

The amorphous black blob beneath the beads is actually three pieces of fabric. Two are dark gray ultrasuede (I think) rectangles which will be used in the finishing steps. The third is a piece of <a href="http://www.lacysstiffstuff.com/ rel="nofollow">"Lacy's Stiff Stuff" which is, to my fingertips, softer, thicker, and, well, stiffer, than upholsterer's interface ("Skirtex"). It only comes in white, but Marie's designed the Garden Path for a dark background. In the instructions, she suggests a couple ways of dyeing and/or coloring the Stiff Stuff, but she's included a pre-dyed piece in the kit.
